Getting to Teeny's Cottage
The Isle of Skye is situated off the north west coast of Scotland. We are connected to the mainland by a 'no toll' bridge on the A87 at Kyle of Lochalsh. You can also get to Skye by the main ferry from Mallaig to Armadale, or a smaller ferry from Glenelg to Kylerhea.Be aware that using just our postcode on Google Maps directions is not accurate. Type In Teeny's Cottage Isle of Skye, and this will be correct. Alternatively, use the following link to download our directions.
Teeny's Cottage is located 12 miles west of Portree on the A850 Dunvegan Road. The view from the front of the cottage faces north west across Loch Snizort, with Harris and Lewis of the Outer Hebrides on the horizon, while the remaining points of the compass span sheep covered hills. The shoreline is a fifteen minute stroll away, with miles of stunning coastline to explore if you enjoy walking. If you prefer driving, almost every road on Skye has loch or sea views.
Satellite Navigation Notes
If you use satellite navigation, it will often suggest coming via the ferry from Mallaig. Unless you want to specifically use that ferry, ignore the command and come to us via the Skye Bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh.
When you are within half a mile of us, some navigation systems suggest turning right onto an unmade road, ignore this as it is the old main road now used as a footpath. Stay on the main road; we are at the bottom of the hill up on the left bank.
